An open letter from Dan Cave, Cardium Health's President & CEO.
At Cardium Health, we do what we do by following three simple principles:
commitment, cooperation and compassionate caring.
Commitment. Our view is quite simple: We will
do whatever it takes to meet or exceed our customers’ expectations in everything
we do.
For our current customers, it means that you know us – personally. We strive
to understand your business and the challenges you face. We work with you to anticipate
changes and meet them head-on, before they become problems. We are committed to open
communication, 24/7/365. We are there for you when things are going well, and when
they aren’t. We deeply appreciate your business and will do whatever it takes
to earn it every day. |

For our prospective customers, it means a commitment to first understanding your needs,
then working with you to meet them. It means being up front with you about what we
do well, and letting you know if your needs require services beyond our core capabilities.
When this is the case, we’ll work with you to help you get the best health services
to meet your needs. Our commitment is to work harder than anyone else in the industry
for you.
For employee benefits consultants, it means a commitment to a consultative sales process.
It means that we will work with you honestly, that our sales and account management
professionals will respect your relationship with clients, and help you to preserve
them. It means that we will tell you when our products are right for your client, and
when they aren’t. It means that we will embrace your input on how to make our
programs, measurements, operations, and service better.
Cooperation. At Cardium Health, we are dedicated to the success of
our customers’ people – to their health, morale, and productivity. This
is our ultimate goal and the only true measure of program success. To accomplish real
cooperation, not only must we do our job well, but our customers’ health
plans, disability managers, pharmacy benefit managers, health risk assessment vendors,
and other partners must do their jobs well also. It’s about working together
proactively to constantly think about ways to make the overall program better. It means
that if we’re counseling a participant who needs one of our customers’ other
programs more than they need ours, we will make sure that the participant has access
to that program. It means that if we identify a participant during enrollment who may
not be a candidate for our program, we’ll refer them to other programs depending
on their need and what’s in their individual best interest.
Compassionate Caring. Most importantly, Cardium
Health is a company about compassionate caring for our customers’ people and
their families. For our program participants, we commit to you to
do our best. We are relentlessly dedicated to improving your good health, happiness,
and wellbeing at every opportunity, in every thing we do. Straight from the heart,
we are a company of compassionate clinicians. Nurses, certified
diabetes educators, dietitians,
physicians, exercise
physiologists, and others who have dedicated their professional lives to helping
others. Our greatest reward is your health. We will fight for you. We will work with
you. We will listen to you. We will laugh with you and we will cry with you. We will
help you get started and pick you back up when you are struggling. We will never, ever
give up on you!
For Cardium Health employees, you inspire me every day. You demonstrate by your actions
that caring about others is not only good business; it’s the only way to do our
business. I am privileged and honored to work with you.
Sincerely,
Daniel D. Cave
